DESIGN: Experimented with conversational UI for voice and chat. Developed prototypes to test on Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Led design workshops with clients to help determine when voice would make sense in their digital systems. Led an internal hands-on development workshop for designing and developing voice prototypes.
MENTOR: Led a Today at Apple session on web development and created the Product(RED) website from scratch to inspire attendees to try coding for the first time.
LEARN: Dive in and learn about AI. Completed MIT's Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy executive education course.
LEARN: Graduated from the University of Greenwich with a BSc (Hons) in Digital Media Technologies, with First Class Honours.
AWARD: Awarded the Greenwich Global Mobility Scholarship from the University of Greenwich and Santander Universities to travel to Chile in July 2017 to learn intensive beginner's Spanish and learn about the Chilean culture.

WORK: Joined Momentus as a Product Designer, full-time. Joined Apple as a Technical Specialist, part-time.

DESIGN: Completed my practicum as a UX Engineer at UrtheCast, a powerful Earth-imaging system for geospatial analysis. I designed an internal system to visualize and explain their message flow. LEARN: Graduated from BCIT with a Diploma, Digital Design and Development, with Distinction.

CONFERENCE: Attended Google's Polymer Conference in London, England. Amazed at how so very few females attended!
LEARN: Chose web accessibility and gamification as my topics for my dissertation at the University of Greenwich to learn how to design and develop for all users.
DEVELOP: Experimented with VR development in Unity.
WORK: Joined Medeo, a healthcare technology startup that connected healthcare providers and patients through private video visits and secure messaging, to learn DevOps and IT admistration. Grateful to the Medeo team for letting me dive in and learn a variety of things from github, nginx, chef, setting up security cameras, Cisco Meraki, and so, so much more.
LEARN: Took on freelance design work for a bit and had encounted an issue with a client not paying me for the work I did for a couple months. Having already outlined the details and terms of getting paid, this was a key lesson in standing up for myself and knowing when to quit working with those who don't value their team.
DESIGN: Having done so much design for the web, it's always so fun and interesting doing print design. Researched French wine label design and designed and created our family's wine labels. Another print design project was to design the labels and packaging for three essential oil sets of Kama Naturals.
MENTOR: Since 2014, I've been volunteering at Ladies Learning Code and Kids Learning Code events in Vancouver as a technical mentor. The sessions I mentor ladies are in web development, the sessions for kids are in gamemaking with Scratch.
AWARD: Awarded the 2015 BC Technology Scholarship presented by the British Columbia Technology Industry Association.
DESIGN & DEVELOP: My first iOS app launched in the summer of 2010. In a span of two years, I designed and developed more than 40 iOS apps and 7 apps for Android. My goal was to make it easy for fans to keep up with their favourite fandoms. Founded my own company to house all my apps.
FEATURED: My iOS apps were #1 in the App Store 150 times, ranging everywhere from the #1 highest ranked and highest-grossing sports, news, entertainment, and reference apps, to the #1 overall paid and #1 overall free app as well.
DEVELOP: Since 2010, I've been a Webmaster and Recipe Taster at Fueling with Flavour. Help maintain the blog, fix bugs, manage ads, tweak the design of the templates we use, and I recreate my Mama's amazing recipes. I do it all for brownie points and, of course, actual brownies – chocolate pudding and vla , and tiramisu! View the blog >

LEARN & DESIGN: Joined TYE Vancouver in 2012-2013, a program for students to learn about the challenges and rewards of becoming an entrepreneur from seasoned entrepreneurs and mentors. For my project, I designed an ecosystem of a series of products designed to help individuals with diabetes live their lives easier and with less pain. This ecosystem offers a prickless, bloodless way to measure glucose and ketone levels. Read more >
CONFERENCE: Got invited to attend Facebook's developer event in 2012, their only one ever in Vancouver. This was very eye-opening, I had no idea what a hackathon was and had never met a developer prior to this event. This conference led me to join Medeo.
